Courage Carries Front Runner to Success.

I was asked to identify an effective communicator as part of a job application. My choice was Mr. Al Gore, an admirable public speaker who managed to acquire the appropriate knowledge and communicate a problem that had previously been unattended by the majority.

"To be an effective communicator, one of the main ingredients for success is understanding all aspects of the intended subject. This, combined with enthusiasm and an ability to frame the problem using the appropriate strategies, led the former politician to achieve great success in raising awareness."

Presenting Yourself in Social Media.

"Yeah I Know All About Social Media, Except How To Appear Attractive Online."

As part of a class project in COM 440 - Telecommunication Processes & Audience Behavior at the University of Rhode Island, I was to produce a non-scholarly article which would be featured on our class website, serving as evidence for the work we had completed. The language is evidently written in blog linguistic and does therefore not feature MLA/APA style citations. The piece relates to behavior in Social Media and how to appear desirable to others, both friends and prospective employers.

"Being able to accurately identify the norms and accepted behaviors of the age and cultural group one is part of, will lay the foundation for an attractive image, both in real life and on social networks. My advice is to be a critical observer of your online network to figure this out - what is perceived as attractive? What type of behavior seems to be praised with likes and positive comments and which status' are left alone? An attractive social media profile is all about understanding the cultural ideas and norms that exist within your network."

WRT 302 - Writing Culture, University of Rhode Island.

The assignment entailed creating documents that would be necessary in creating an event. The event I chose to fictionally make was a soccer-tricks tournament. The type of content I produced include: sponsorship and venue proposals, a competition program, an ad, a sign-up sheet along with others.

Lucy's Hearth Handbook.

As part of my stay with Lucy's Hearth I, with other volunteers from University of Rhode Island, were asked to produce a new handbook featuring simple language and design. We were able to put together a product that was praised both by our professor and employers from the homeless shelter. We used as a previous version of the handbook as a guideline, but the product was recreated completed both in design and content.
